Install Wget by running the following commands:
./configure --prefix=/usr \
--sysconfdir=/etc \
--with-ssl=openssl &&
make
To test the results, issue: make check. The HTTPS tests fail if valgrind is enabled.
Now, as the root user:
make install
--sysconfdir=/etc: This
relocates the configuration file from /usr/etc to /etc.
--with-ssl=openssl: This
allows the program to use OpenSSL-1.0.2k
instead of GnuTLS-3.5.9.
--enable-valgrind-tests: This allows
the tests to be run under valgrind.
/etc/wgetrc and ~/.wgetrc
If you have installed the Certificate Authority
Certificates and you want Wget to use them, as the root user:
echo ca-directory=/etc/ssl/certs >> /etc/wgetrc
